Accessibility Statement
The Steiner Tourismus GmbH is committed to making its website at the URL austria-obertauern.at accessible in accordance with the Austrian Accessibility Act (as of the effective date on June 28, 2025) for the implementation of the European Accessibility Directive (EU Directive 2019/882) regarding the accessibility requirements of products and services.
1. Status of Compliance with Requirements
This website is partially compliant with the requirements of the AA conformance level of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.2. The incompatibilities and exceptions are listed below.
2. Non-Accessible Content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
2.1 Incompatibility with Accessibility Regulations:
- PDF documents are available for download on the website, which are currently not accessible. If you need assistance with non-accessible PDF documents, please contact info@austria-obertauern.at. We will try to make the content available to you in an alternative accessible format as far as possible.
- Some foreign words or phrases found in the alternative text of images used on the website, in link descriptions, and in headings are often not correctly pronounced by assistive technologies such as screen readers. Editing the pronunciation is currently not technically possible.
- The WP Grid Builder is used for displaying grids and some sliders on the website. Despite contrary manufacturer claims, this technology is not fully accessible; while it is operable, in some cases, assistive technologies like screen readers may provide irrelevant information.
- Some sections of the website include text on images. This presentation does not meet the AA standard for contrast ratios and could impair readability for people with visual impairments.
2.2 Disproportionate Burden:
For some recorded videos and audio files, the required audio description or a textual alternative (WCAG success criteria 1.2.3 (Audio Description) and 1.2.5 (Media Alternative)) is missing, making the spoken content unavailable for deaf users. We believe that fixing this would constitute a disproportionate burden under the accessibility regulations.
2.3 Content Excluded from the Scope:
- Some proper names used on the website, such as designations of our offers, are not correctly rendered by assistive technologies like screen readers. Proper names are explicitly excluded from WCAG success criterion 3.1.2 (Language of Parts of the Website Content) and, therefore, are not always audibly pronounced correctly.
- Some abbreviations used on the website are not correctly rendered by assistive technologies like screen readers. WCAG success criterion 3.1.4 (Abbreviations) is not required for Level AA of WCAG 2.2.
- Content from third parties that is not developed, funded, or controlled by Steiner Tourismus GmbH is also not subject to the requirements of the Accessibility Act (BaFG).
The mentioned incompatibilities with accessibility regulations are continuously reviewed and, where possible, gradually addressed.
3. Creation of this Accessibility Statement
This statement was created based on a self-assessment according to WCAG 2.2 and is regularly updated, with the most recent update on October 7, 2025.
